This evening will celebrate Czech brothers Pavel and Hugo Haas\, great ar tists whose lives took dramatic turns as the Bohemian Golden Age was devas tated by Nazi occupation. The evening begins with a screening of Hugo Haas 's 1933 comedy film\, 沤ivot je pes (It's a Dog's Life). Following the mov ie\, the Apple Hill String Quartet will perform Pavel Haas's riveting thir d and final quartet\, written as a musical call to resist fascism. Cohen I nstitute Specialist Prof. Brian Crim will be the featured guest in a discu ssion of these artists and this time period.Tickets: This is a ticket even t that is hosted by the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music which has been underwritten by the Cohen Institute.
